The new DeepSeek Flash vs Opus 5.5 vs GPT-6.1 Sol
DeepSeek released V4.1 Flash-1017 on October 17, 2026, with open weights (MIT). We gave three prompts to it, to the previous V4.1 Flash, to Claude Opus 5.5 and to GPT-6.1 Sol: a voxel kingdom under siege, a grassy hill in the wind, and a 3D headphones launch page. One request per build, no agent, no second try. Cards that needed a fix say so. Everything runs in your browser.
A voxel kingdom under siege
Walled city, river, army camp, catapults, a dragon, a day/night slider. Inspired by the viral 2-million-voxel DeepSeek clip.
No fixes. City on a river, farms, forest, siege with catapults, a red dragon, torches and stars at night.
No fixes. The previous V4.1 Flash on the same prompt: everything is there, flatter and greyer.
No fixes. The most blocks by far, and a dragon that breathes fire on the city.
No fixes. Named its kingdom: the most polished castle and interface.
A grassy hill in the wind
Hundreds of thousands of grass blades, an old tree, dandelion seeds on the wind, and a Web Audio soundscape (click for sound).
No fixes. Warm light, dandelion seeds flying, wind and birds after a click.
No fixes. Good grass, lighter sky, flatter light.
Fixed (one line): the grass shader named a variable mv instead of mvPosition, so it did not compile and the hill rendered black. Original kept as meadow-opus-original.html.
No fixes. Bright, clean, painterly, with a Sound on button.
AURA ONE: a headphones launch page
A procedural 3D model you can rotate, three finishes, an exploded view with labels, scroll-triggered sections.
