Motion videos made by a free AI

OpenDesign 0.25.0 (free, open source) added a Motion mode on October 15, 2026. We plugged in DeepSeek V4.1 Flash Free, which OpenCode offers at no cost for a limited time, and asked for three videos. Total cost: $0. Each card plays the MP4; Open the code runs the original animation in your browser.

How it works: the AI does not draw pixels. It writes a web page that moves (HTML, canvas, timing in code). HyperFrames, HeyGen's open-source renderer, plays that page in a headless browser and saves it frame by frame as an MP4. On our PC the AI could only write files in its project folder (no shell, no internet), so the final HyperFrames render was run by us.

OpenDesign's own example prompt. DeepSeek read the bundled example and rebuilt it: logo reveal, six easing curves, shape morphs, a truchet pattern, a point sphere, kinetic type, end card. Soundtrack: the example's own score.

DeepSeek V4.1 Flash Free · OpenDesign How a prompt becomes a video

Our prompt, no example. The first run stopped after 3 minutes; one click on Continue remaining tasks finished it. Visible flaw: the playback bar is baked into the bottom of the frame.

Our prompt, then one follow-up message asking for three changes (bigger network, bigger logo, shorter hold). This is the version after the fix.
