Do design skills kill the AI look? Impeccable vs Hallmark vs no skill

Two design skills for coding agents were climbing GitHub's trending page this week. We gave the same prompt to the same model, Claude Opus 5.5 in Claude Code, three times: once with no skill, once with Impeccable, once with Hallmark. The brief was a one-page site for a small bike repair shop in Naples, with prices, opening hours and the address, and no photos.

How it was run. November 3, 2026, Claude Code with Claude Opus 5.5, one run each, three separate folders. Each folder could only see its own skill: Impeccable from pbakaus/impeccable, Hallmark from Nutlope/hallmark, both as published that day. No second try, no edits. The only thing we added is the small bar at the bottom of each page saying the shop is fictional. One prompt is a sample, not a benchmark.
Claude Opus 5.5 with no skill
No skill Pleasant, and familiar

Cream, tomato red and ink blue, a drawn bicycle, handwritten notes. Nice, but it has the look: rounded buttons and one coloured, underlined word in the headline.

Impeccable The best idea

The booking form is the paper repair tag a mechanic hangs on your bike, on a deep maiolica green. It could not open a browser to check its own page.

Hallmark The most careful

Concrete grey, safety orange, big capitals. It checked its own page in a real browser at laptop, wide and phone sizes. It wrote the page in English.

The exact prompt and how we ran the three builds are in the Ruocco Academy, with the code of every demo.
